SALES MANAGER/DIRECTOR, U.S. Remote

Sales Manager/Director, US Remote

Job Description: 

 

If you're a senior-level, US-based Salesperson with 8+ years representing a specialty food brand (artisan cheese, specialty crackers, high-end jams, etc.), I'd love to hear from you. My client, an award-winning specialty food brand with national distribution, has a fantastic opportunity for someone with a solid track record representing (and growing) specialty foods.

 

Responsibilities: The future Sales Director is responsible for

  • expanding the brand's nationwide coverage with additional placements to existing accounts

  • opening distribution to new key retailers using your established network, and cold-calling potential new opportunities

  • building relationships with retail buyers and decision makers

  • driving the annual account planning process including promotion schedules, category reviews, in-store marketing support, etc.

  • managing brokers and deciding if/when to let them go based on performance

  • daily interaction with founders, marketing and support team at the home office

  • regular travel (20-30% estimate) to the home office, client/retail locations, and events, with occasional weekend duties

 

Qualifications: Potential candidates will have

  • a solid track record of successfully representing a specialty food brand, in a National Sales Manager or Sales Director role

  • demonstrated understanding of buyer behavior, drivers, category management, etc.

  • experience developing and constantly refining B2B sales plans capable of growing a specialty food brand's distribution

  • an aptitude for data analysis and experience with Excel

  • a substantial rolodex of national connections with decision-makers allowing them to hit the ground running, as this is a senior-level position with goals to match

  • a strong reputation in the specialty food industry

  • a history of successfully managing brokers

  • the legal authorization to work in the United States without restriction

 

Compensation: The chosen candidate will earn

  • $90K-$100K+ base salary, DOE

  • bonus tied to performance metrics

  • health and dental

  • 10 Vacation days, 5 Sick days

  • Participation in company’s profit-sharing plan after eligibility period

 

Those with at least 8 years of experience working in Sales, representing a specialty food brand will be considered. Interviews are expected to begin in mid-January, and the hired candidate will start in the next 30-60 days. As always, all communication with candidates is confidential.

Here's a summary of what you can expect when applying for a position through Gigantic Ventures:

d) Jason contacts the best-fitting candidates based on their provided material and initial calls for video interviews. These are typically 45-60 minute meetings intended to learn more about the candidates and to describe the hiring brand in more detail

e) The hiring company chooses the top candidates for group video calls and we take it from there. Hiring companies will check references and in most situations will make an offer within 1-2 weeks of completing their final interview.

 

Interview Schedule: Short phone interviews begin in mid-January and the chosen candidate will be expected to begin within 30-60 days of being hired. Note: Only those chosen for interviews will be contacted due to the overwhelming number of applications we typically receive.
